Description of Marble Madness

I spent countless coins on the arcade version of this game, which proves why Atari was a highly successful game company in the 80s: original concept, great graphics, and solid gameplay.

Guide a ball as it rolls downhill toward the exit, escaping enemies and obstacles along the way. A truly timeless masterpiece of game design. Colorful isometric graphics and realistic ball physics (complete with inertia and gravity) are the game's hallmarks that set it apart from other arcade games in its time. Highly recommended!

Note: the keyboard control is implemented like an afterthought-- make sure you have a joystick hooked up to get the most enjoyment from this game.

Yeah, it didn't look too bad at the time, the first 10 minute I found Marble Madness ok, but after a while on later levels I just found it infuriating.

The DOS version is one of the worst ports I've ever seen. No EGA support, despite being released three years after it was released. Same goes with Tandy graphics and sound. The best this is gonna look is in composite mode. The collision is super wonky, and while trying to beat the first level, I repeatedly fell through the floor. On the second level, I fell through A WALL. IDK how Atari saw this port and was like "yeah, that's good".

Dosbox 0.74 + Win7 (64 bit) Works ... I had a problem with it not working well with my joystick (which works fine for any other thing I do - USB) - kinda works but nope. Game runs - might be dosbox thing I dunno.

Also - I personally had to slow down the CPU in DosBox for this game it was quite hyper.

One of the controller breakers of its day, had one of the steepest learning curves ever. But was still AWESOME and addictive!
