Had and still have this on the Megadrive. It played horribly, players were slow and limited but still put some hours in. The best part was just running around the pitch and have the ref chase you when he tried to give you a card. One of the funniest glitches at the time in computer gaming.

Setup runs fine, sounds test OK, but whenever I try to run fifa itself (I'm using DFend with DOSBox), the screen goes blank and closes. I did modify DOSBox conf file (cputype=386_prefetch) but doesn't solve the issue. Anybody has any ideas?

If you're running the game in DOSBOX, run CONFIG first to select and test sound and music. If you having problems config sound and music cards, you have to exit CONFIG and edit manually FIFA.CFG file on the Notepad editor.
If it looks like this:
SFX -1,FFFFh,-1,-1,-1
MUSIC -1,FFFFh,-1,-1,-1
...you have to change to this:
SFX 14,0220h,07,01,05
MUSIC 02,0330h,-1,-1,-1
SFX 14 is for Sound Blaster 16
MUSIC 02 is for Roland SSC1
Save the file, then run CONFIG again to Test Sound and Music ONLY. If you're happy with the joyce and is all working, from now on just run the game FIFA.EXE.
If you're not happy with the music sound card (for example), edit again FIFA.CFG and change the first number from 01 to 18, each time you change the number check in CONFIG and Test Music.

For those who encounter problems with the error "RET from illegal descriptor type 0":
1. Open DOSBox folder
2. Open DOSBox 0.74 Options from the folder mentioned above
3. Search in the notepad that it will open for cputype
4. Instead of cputype=auto, write
cputype=386_prefetch
5. Mount the game and launch
6. Enjoy (most probably it should work) :)

Hello.
Fifa94 runs but without sound. I have DOSbox 0.74 and used cputype=386_prefetch as NERRY suggested. Any suggestion to fix the sound problem?

To run on Android,
- Put FIFA folder to your dosbox folder on sdcard [ by file manager ]
- Open up Dosbox Turbo by Fishstix
- Set cputype to pentium or pentium_mmx
- Run fifa.exe
