I have a Win 3.x version which doesn't rely on DOSBox. It can also run under x64 Windows with winevdm (otvdm) installed.

Very interesting concept, but the manual (size of a phone directory) ruins the experience for me.

I rather learn how to use an old abandonware application like Photoshop 4.0, rather than go through the manual of SimEarth or SimLife, and the manuals for these games are more or less the same size of a book to learn how to use all the features of Adobe PS4.

What's more, call me simple-minded, but I must be so casual that I rather play SimTown (target age: 12 years old) that is super user-untuitive and cool-looking, if oversimplistic.

Generally all Maxis simulation games are well balanced but SE and SL were micromanagment experiments that remind me of grand strategy games like the ones by Paradoxx.

I remember playing this game's windows version until it's too old for my old Desktop PC, so I ends up playing it's DOS version for my DosBox

oh! and even in Easy mode, playing modern-day earth in this game can be bit too easy if we can use monolith on Humans there

Guide:
1. Unzip File and transfer to C:\\DosGame\
2. Rename Folder to just SimEarth (makes it so much easier to type in on Dosbox)
3. Download and install DosBox
4. Run DosBox
5. Type "mount c c:\DosGame\SimEarth\" (without quotations)
6. Type "c:\"
7. Type "simearth.exe"

Should run with no problems. Just make sure when you transfer the folder make sure there are no subfolders. (When you open c:\\Dosgame\SimEarth\ the simearth.exe file should be in there and not inside another folder)

I loaded this into a folder I mounted as "A" dive in DOS bOx, then I mounted "C" drive and installed it INTO that folder ....works great.
I also run windows 3.1 in that folder but SimEarth doesnt like to be opened via Win 3.1 for some reason and I need to do it by cd ing into the simearth folder and running the exe file

You can buy a cheap Floppy USB disk drive and use defender to install and play the game.

I suggest using VMware load in an old copy of ms-dos for the Op system and run it that way
