It is funny how badly some cutting edge, massive of the time, cult games have dated. Shadow of the Beast played like a turkey, but the graphics at the time were pretty awesome. I first sampled this game on my mate's Amiga, even then I thought the game itself was absolutely awful, but I was just mesmerised by the graphics, bearing in mind at the time I was a C64 owner. In the years since, I've played the C64 and Mega Drive version and nostalgia hasn't won me over with this. The gaming world needs games like Shadow of the Beast, pushing graphics further, but once the graphics start aging, such games have nothing else to offer. Not one of my favourite memories from my mate's Amiga.

Great graphics (For the Gen/Amiga version) n music but adds nothing new to the table is a common thing said about this, and I agree with most of them.
It's also great if you know that one person who thinks they're the GamesMaster because they beat Dark Souls once and you want to take them down a peg.
