Description of Conflict
An excellent but hardly-known sim, Conflict achieves what it sets out to be in the title: a political simulation of age-old conflicts in the turbulent middle east. Set foreign, economic, and military policies to either promote the peace or instigate regional wars-- it's your call. The game has a decent AI, many realistic options (including nuclear weapons program), and good replay value. It's also very well-written.
With very high addictiveness quotient, excellent realism, and virtually unlimited replayability, this is one game fans of political sims simply MUST play. Two thumbs up, way up!

Easy game if you follow a simple plan. Make peace with everyone while supporting insurgents to overthrow the governments. Build up your army as much as possible, and fund the nuclear program. Very easy game actually

The description above exaggerates the game's realism and the sophistication of the AI. Diplomacy is rather simple, for instance. The game has some rough edges; it would be neat if there were possibilities for countries that have gone into civil disorder for instance. As it is, civil disorder effectively eliminates countries from the game...though the victory conditions might have to be reworked a bit if that were changed.
It would be nice if the game were somewhat moddable. In particular there are a few grammatical errors that would be nice to correct, such as the newspaper saying a country is overrun by "hoards" from another country, which makes me picture them being attacked by the other country's treasury rather than its military. But those are minor annoyances. It's a great game to play when you want something simple, fast, and entertaining.

like all games and movies very little to no realism but a quick fun game these is hard because Egypt on one side Syria on the other Jordan and Lebanon not a problem I find there is a formular for winning with a out standing performance find this formular to play the game just think about it

Well, the game and its propensity to Syria being a tough nut to crack was spot on. I eventually squashed them, but tangled with Egypt only a turn or so later.
My only bugaboo with this game is 2 nuclear strikes from me (1 for syria then 1 for egypt) ended the world? Really? Gimme a break. :P
