Was this game ever finished or is this all? It's impressive as it is, but I wish there was more.

"Young people don't know about this gem" Then tell more people about it. It's not like this game is ultra popular in the first place, I'm sure there are many old people who don't know about it either.
"If this path were followed we wouldn't have nowadays games taking dozens of gigabytes still being lousy in many aspects. But as the lie goes - "the bigger, the better". So there, a brilliant concept buried by greed, in a world that's now falling apart." Games taking up less than 100 KB of space wasn't a common thing at all in 2004, you'd have to go back to the 70's if you want a time when that was common. Most games in 2004 took up 2-5 GB of space, this game was one of a kind for it's time in that aspect. As the average size of games increases over time, so does the average size of the storage devices, it's why 700 MB was a lot in 1998 but it's barley anything now for example, or why 20 MB was a lot in 1985 but it's pretty much nothing now. And the reason why the average size of games is going up is because it has to for game's to progress. Textures are higher quality, maps are larger, etc. now than they were back then and it was necessary for more storage to be taken up for it to be possible. Compressing things to low sizes like this isn't a simple task. Nobody ever claimed that the more storage a game takes up the better the game is either, you're the only one I've ever seen judge games based off of how much storage they take up, it's ironic to complain about a lie that you made up. And there are still good games being made nowadays, you just need to stop scoping out the bad ones to find them. Also please elaborate about how games taking up more than 100 KB means that the world is falling apart

To anyone having problems running the game run the compatibility troubleshooter (right clicking the .exe) or just set the compatibility settings in properties to run with WindowsXP (service pack 3) and it should be run fine

As DRUGWASH says, those young programmers were an example that new independent game programmers should follow, that fantastic things can be done if one puts the love and effort to achieve it. Today most only care about the money they make selling their game no matter how good it is and if the player really likes it.

Very impressive, game is just 98kb in size but when you launch it hogs over 300 mb of ram, where does that even come from?
KKK 2021-07-30 -3 points
Hate to say this, but this game actually pulls about 1-2gb of space to run it. Do to the techniques used to compress this game it will take about 2gb of storage space to run. I remember the interview the devs had about the demo and how the testers reported the demo did in fact take over 1gb to actually run.

well, i guess it was a demo like them said at the end, but even i can't move so fast, can't change the sensibility of the mouse, was possible to play da game, and i hope this game was completed, i'll search about, good project, just need to fix the physics of the shoots from the bazooka and add a button to run, but as i said, it seems be a demo, and man... less than 1mb, this game is a legend

*sigh* Young people don't know about this gem. Somebody however mentioned it was created for a competition. At the time many/most people thought it was written in ASM hence the small size; the developers, though, revealed it was written in C (or C++, I forgot) but it used a particular technique: instead of storing already created textures and objects and whatnot it actually stored the algorithms required for creating them. That is the reason why the game is so small in size and still offers such powerful 3D effects, while taking a longer time to "load". It is not a virus - although I commend people for being so aware of suspectly small application size.
Many times over the years have I offered this game as an example of genius combined with good will. If this path were followed we wouldn't have nowadays games taking dozens of gigabytes still being lousy in many aspects. But as the lie goes - "the bigger, the better". So there, a brilliant concept buried by greed, in a world that's now falling apart.

The best example to date in video games of technology indistinguishable from magic! Yes, that is the real filesize! You just need to give it time to load. Works in Windows 8 no problem.

This game was made by a german demogroup for some "96k game competition". I actually remember getting this from some demo disc that came with a magazine back in 2005.
It's not a virus, the file size is correct and the file description is seriously lacking.
underskyzx 2019-05-22 2 points
First of all, It's not a virus.
Second you can run with Win95 compatibility mode, worked here on Win 7 64bit

Firebird 2018-09-10 2 points
I remember this game coming out in 2004. It was touted as the smallest fps made at the time and was a fairly decent game. Yes the 98k download size is correct, that is how big the game actually was.
